Day One (AM): What is Public Health Advocacy, When Do You Use It And Why?

During the introductory sessions we will discuss how and why public health advocacy is the deliberate pursuit of changes in policy, attitudes, behaviour and decision-making in the interests of public health. The PHAI advocacy framework will be introduced, and we will discuss how public health practitioners can plan or respond to complex public health issues using advocacy.

By the end of Day 1, you will have used the advocacy framework to clarify your advocacy ask and started group discussion about how to best plan your public health advocacy efforts.
