The inaugural Australian Public Health Advocacy Symposium, the first of its kind in our region, is designed specifically to develop advocacy skills and directions. This Symposium will explore, promote and discuss advocacy for public health, providing a platform for PHAI to work with committed advocates to build future collaborative advocacy efforts. A principal function of the Symposium is to build capacity to engage in effective advocacy and inspire action to address public health inequalities. This will be an online event.

This Symposium is hosted by the Public Health Advocacy Institute (PHAI), an independent public health voice based within Curtin University in Western Australia. PHAI aims to influence, build, promote, and support advocacy for public health priorities through innovation in education, applied research, engagement, and practice. PHAI’s suite of capacity building activities includes tools, resources and skills-based professional development for organisations and individuals to improve their ability to achieve effective health promotion and public health advocacy. For more information on PHAI: www.phaiwa.org.au

Registered Health Promotion Practitioners may claim this event for continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
