Webinar Description

This webinar will explore the opportunities to engage with the curriculum within a Response to Intervention model for primary and secondary school settings.

The Response to Intervention model will be described and explained.

A brief overview of the Australian Curriculum and its components, while acknowledging the variations in state and territory curriculum frameworks.

The reasons for engaging with the curriculum will be delved into, with explanations and examples provided for both primary and secondary settings.

The two presenters will engage in a conversation to discuss how the curriculum can be used to influence student outcomes and further collaborations.

The final section of the webinar will include time for questions and discussion with the participants.

Who Should Attend

Registrants must be speech pathologists or speech pathology students. The target caseload is school aged students - primary and secondary.

This workshop is for speech pathologists who are considering working within school settings or who would like to develop their use of the Response to Intervention model by leveraging the use of the Australian Curriculum.

If you attended the Oral Language and Literacy in Education Conference in August, 2018, please be advised that there will be some similar content about the Response to Intervention model and accessing the curriculum, but the bulk of the content will be new detail regarding why and how to include the curriculum in intervention.
